Prof. Dr. Syed Jaffar Ahmed Appointed General Secretary of Pakistan Historical Society

Mrs. Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan and Pakistan Historical Society, has appointed Prof Dr Syed Jaffar Ahmed, a distinguished expert in social sciences, as the General Secretary of the Society following the recommendations of the Executive Committee of the Pakistan Historical Society. Prof Dr Syed Jaffar Ahmed brings extensive experience in education, teaching and research. He served as the Director of the Pakistan Study Centre of the University of Karachi for eighteen years. He currently, holds the position of the Director at the Institute of Historical and Social Research and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Sohail University, Karachi.
Pakistan Historical Society is a research organization, established in 1950 by senior professors of History to promote and advance research on various aspects of History. Since 1953, the Society has been publishing its research journal, Journal of the Pakistan Historical Society, a double blind peer-reviewed journal featuring scholarly researched papers on History.
