DR. MUHAMMAD IQBAL’S VISION: A COMPREHENSIVE CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF POLITICAL AND CULTURAL PERSPECTIVES
Abstract
This study investigates the complex life and profound philosophical contributions of Muhammad Iqbal, a key figure in British India known for his influential roles as a philosopher, poet, and politician. Iqbal’s intellectual legacy is marked by the fusion of political and cultural views, positioning him as a significant figure in the intellectual landscape of South Asia. The primary objective of this research is to critically analyze Iqbal's politico-cultural worldview, focusing on the intricate relationship between his political ideologies and cultural philosophy. The study explores Iqbal’s vision for a Muslim state and his evolving concept of selfhood, unveiling the deep influence of his political ideas. Simultaneously, the research examines Iqbal’s cultural philosophy, blending traditional and modern concepts while emphasizing the importance of language and literature in the revitalization of culture. This analysis underscores the interconnection between Iqbal’s political beliefs and his cultural rejuvenation, illustrating how both shaped the socio-political fabric of South Asia. In conclusion, the study reaffirms the enduring relevance of Iqbal’s thought, offering a comprehensive understanding of his intellectual legacy and its lasting impact on political and cultural discourse in the region.
