Abstract

Habbar ibn al-Aswad was a member of the Banu Habbari tribe of Quraysh. A member of his family came to Sindh with Munzir ibn Zubayr and al-Hakam b. Awana, the governor of Sindh. They have played an important role in the history of the Arabs and Sindh. In addition to the information of the Muslim historians and geographers about the Banu Habbari of al-Mansurah, other important pieces of information are represented by the inscriptions discovered during the excavations by the Department of Archaeology. Moreover, door knockers and coins yielded information about certain historical periods of the Emirate and Banu Habbari. Therefore, we relied on coin and archaeological research to present a realistic and complete picture of the Emirate as possible, with these tools.
