Prof (Dr) Ghulam Muhammad Lakho

Abstract

It is with a heavy heart that we fulfil the painful duty of writing the obituary of a Life Member as well as an eminent and active Member of the Executive Council of the Pakistan Historical Society that is Prof Dr Ghulam Muhammad Lakho, who, at the end of a long and illustrious academic career retired as Professor and Chairman of the Department of General History, University of Sindh. Apart from being a historian, Dr Lakho was a renowned litterateur and in this capacity, served as Member, Publication Committee, Institute of Sindhiology, University of Sindh, Member, Board of Governors, Sindhi Adabi Board, Jamshoro, Member Editorial Board, Encyclopedia Sindhiana, as well as Consultant on History of Sindh, Sindh Adabi Board, Jamshoro among his contribution to other organizations.
